CoDrone Competition: SPY MISSION

Your mission, should you choose to accept, will be to use your engineering, creativity, and technique to solve spy-themed drone challenges. Good luck, pilot!

Hello beloved Robolink community!

We are so excited to talk about our upcoming CoDrone competition!

We will be holding our Spy Mission competition at the Air & Space Museum at Balboa Park on Saturday, Feburary 3, 2018, from 10am-2pm.

Our team has been preparing hard for this event, which we hope will encourage students to showcase their programming knowledge in an exciting way! Each participating team will be programming their drone to complete various challenges in order to become the CoDrone Master Pilot!

“It always seems impossible until it’s done.” -Nelson Mandela

We understand that the competition may seem daunting at first, but our goal with the CoDrone is to show that programming can be learned easily! Have fun and become a true engineer as you test and fail and test again until you get it right.

Build your own competition

It's easier than it sounds

We not only want to talk about our competition, but would like to encourage YOU to hold your own CoDrone competition wherever you are!

You can easily make obstacle courses with objects at home or in the classroom as long as you stay creative!

One of the items we use most in our offices are PVC pipes. They’re easy to work with, affordable, and super versatile.
You can create hoops for drones to fly through with them, and you can also tie strings across frames to create “laser beams,” (if you don’t have LED lights available to you).

The more creative you get, the more creative your students will have to be to overcome these obstacles! Overall, this results in a more fun and engaging learning experience.

So, head over to Home Depot, get some PVC pipes, and start designing!
Make sure to let us know if you have any cool ideas of your own!

Feel free to leave comments below or share on social media if you hold a competition of your own.
We would love to see everyone’s ideas and experiences!
