ROBOLINK WILL BE CLOSED FROM NOVEMBER 24 - 27, DECEMBER 23 - 26, & 31, JANUARY 1-9
The following will be the expected Robolink outline for the 2016-17 VEX IQ Season. All of the important dates can be found here

The following outline will be for the Duration of September 4, 2016 - February 5, 2017

September 4 – 10|

  • Meet Teams
  • Watch the VEX IQ Crossover Intro Video
  • Go over the rules
  • Go over Project Planning/Brainstorm(Come up with robot ideas, what to build)
  • Start development of “Object Manipulator”
  • Go over Introduction to the Engineering Journal make sure you get into the habit of tracking your progress
  • Come up with Team names & Robot names

September 11-17|

  • Go over rules
  • Build & test “Object Manipulators” -test multiple different ideas (each student should come up with one idea)
  • Finalize Team Names and Robot Names
  • Select an object manipulator based on it’s performance
  • Brainstorm how your robot will operate with this as it’s main function to score points
  • Start designing the base of the robot

September 18-24|

  • Mandatory:All students must complete
    • Getting Started(System Configuration)
    • Getting Started(Your First Program)
  • Introduction to driver control
  • Driver control activity to test out the base of the robot
  • Try doing the gear activity/supplement lessons if you need more strength or speed
  • Introduction to Robot C
  • Complete Build of Robot base completed
  • Programming Motors
  • Introduction to If statements and While loops

September 25-October 1|

  • *Work on lift system*
  • Connect object manipulator to base
  • Test drive robot(driver control)
  • Program the remote control
  • Complete Remote Control Activities
  • Program the base to work with the remote control

October 2- 8|

  • Mandatory: Prototype of robot should be done at this point
  • Benchmark 33 points as your robot skills goal
  • Work on modifying/improving robot
  • Test drive robot/practice playing the game
  • Make sure that the robot is operating correctly
  • Work on autonomous program

October 9- 15| Reminder : October 15 VEX IQ Scrimmage @ Robolink

  • Last minute tuning for the robot
  • Test drive and practice games
  • Programming Exercises

October 15|
